Boult Cummings offers a six-week program open to 1L and 2Ls the first-half of each summer.  Except under certain circumstances, we require that each of our summer associates spend the entire six weeks with the firm. The Boult Cummings Summer Associate Program begins in mid-May and continues for six weeks.

In an effort to make the work experience at Boult Cummings both broad and educational, we encourage each summer associate to work with as many different attorneys and in as many different practice areas as possible.  Our summer program involves written projects, practical experiences and social activities.

Prior to the start of the summer program, Boult Cummings attorneys assemble different written projects in which our summer associates can assist. These projects are then posted on a secure intranet website where each summer associate can choose projects of interest to him/her. Once a project is selected, the summer associate works with the assigning attorney until that project is completed.  In addition to written projects, summer associates are encouraged to accompany attorneys to legal events such as mediations, depositions, trials, client meetings and conference calls, deal closings, and community and professional functions.

The goal of our program is to showcase Boult Cummings and the type of work to which you will be exposed as an attorney at our firm. Through your work and the activities, we will get to know you and you will get to know our attorneys and the city of Nashville in order to make the best decision for your future.
