Matt Lonergan practices almost exclusively in the area of labor relations and employment law on behalf of management.  He has represented management throughout the country in the areas of collective bargaining negotiations, grievance and arbitration, employment discrimination litigation in both federal and state courts, the National Labor Relations Act, wrongful discharge, wage and hour law, and other employment-related areas.  Matt also is experienced in ADR, mediation and has served as a mediator in employment litigation matters.  Matt spends a great deal of time consulting with our management clients in identifying potential legal issues and resolving day-to-day management and operational issues.

Matt actively lectures on such topics as the Americans with Disabilities Act, Drug Testing and Privacy Rights, Employee Protected Concerted Activity and Sexual Harassment.  He also works with many of the firm's clients by providing annual training to their supervisors and managers on EEO Employment Considerations and Management Training Techniques.  Matt is the current editor of the firm's Human Resources Counsel newsletter.

Matt is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee (Labor Law Section), Texas and American (Labor and Employment Law Section) Bar Associations, and a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Association. Matt is included in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business 2008,  The Best Lawyers in America® 2009  and Mid-South Super Lawyers 2008  for his labor and employment practice.  Matt is also on the Editorial Board of the Employment Law Strategist .
