Joel Eckert assists with a wide range of business litigation matters on behalf of the firm's corporate and individual clients. Joel also had the rather unique experience of successfully representing a youth soccer club in a suit alleging arbitrary and capricious action by a state soccer association in issuing a forfeiture decision. The temporary injunction obtained in the matter allowed one of the club's teams to advance to the next round of the state tournament.
Joel received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in May 2006, where he served as the Notes Development Editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review. Joel is the author of "Student Athlete Contract Rights in the Aftermath of Bloom v. NCAA", 59 Vanderbilt Law Review 905 (2006). In 2006, Joel won the Carl J. Ruskowski Clinical Legal Education Award. He earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Business and Economics from Wheaton College in 1999. Prior to law school, Joel worked in the office of Texas Senator Phil Gramm and as a coach for the basketball and tennis programs at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania.
